A Floating Piece of Wood
My life is like a floating piece of wood,
Drifting in a never-ending sea
Lost and cast away, forever, for good
Ocean is kindly smothering me
Floating in this never-ending sea
I’ve come far from the crowded shore,
I drifted and fell. No one even saw
I am forgotten, shaken to the core
I’ve come far from the crowded shore,
I’ve gotten soft. I am sore and weak
This is where I die, the ocean’s floor
Will of my absence anyone speak?
I wonder sometimes: to where will I go?
The water takes me. I will never know.
